Protaras
Protaras is a popular tourist resort, well known for its beautiful golden white sandy beaches, especially Fig Tree Bay with its old lone fig tree, and clear sky blue waters.
A beautiful purpose built coastal boardwalk links Protaras to adjoining resorts, secluded coves & beachside tavernas & cafes. To the northwest, atop a rock, you will find the limestone Church of Profitis Ilias (Agios Elias) with breath taking views across the bay.
There is a wide choice of hotels & self-catering accommodation with a vast selection of restaurants, traditional tavernas, bars & coffee shops, making this a great area for investment for the tourist market.
Pernera is a smaller tourist area linked by a beachfront walkway to the larger resort of Protaras. Here you will find smaller, secluded beaches including Sirena Bay and Louma Beach (known as the Golden Coast beach due to the hotel located there) and the Protaras Harbour - the site of the new Paralimni Marina.
Pernera has several hotels to choose from and an abundance of holiday villas and apartments, making it a popular choice for families looking for a little more independence on their holiday. Many villa and apartment owners live a large part of the year here so there is life in the area all year round. Although considered a quieter resort, Pernera has a variety of gift shops, cafes, bars, restaurants and traditional tavernas to choose from with options to suit all tastes and budgets.
Cape Greco is a headland in the south eastern part of the island and lies between the towns of Ayia Napa & Protaras and is home to the area’s National Park. It is a gorgeous natural haven, attracting visitors to the area’s spectacular sea caves, with the rocky headland laced with sandy coves. The main beach is Konnos Bay and properties in the area offer you the opportunity to be both close to the sea and have amazing views.
